Backpacking is an enjoyable activity. Hikes are from 16-17km in beautiful places around Victoria. For the Working Pack Dog title, the dogs carry a percentage of their body weight including their water and treats for self-sufficiency. They need to complete 4 hikes to gain a title. 

The trials are organised by a couple of different clubs and held in the cooler months of the year. generally a maximum of 30-35 dogs are allowed to compete.
